With a little creativity, you can expand that small shower, especially on the second floor of a home. Second story floors are usually wood and you can move the toilet and shower drain, allowing both to be relocated. This allows you to clear the playing field, giving yourself the space for a custom tile shower pan (floor) and allowing you to have as big a shower as you want. It is always a good idea to do partial walls in large showers to allow light to come in.
